Clinical Shifts are staffed with a licensed acupuncturist Clinical Supervisor and student clinicians at the levels of Observers, Observer-Assistants, Assistant Interns, and Interns (Levels I-III)


Chinese Herbal Medicine

Each Herbal Shift has a Supervisor approved by the ESATM Dean for the overseeing of herbal student clinicians.


Acupuncture Practitioner Shift

This is for a Practitioner Shift where the Licensed Acupuncturist performs the diagnosis and treatment.

My interest in Asian Medicine began with my study of Tai Chi Chuan and ChiKung in 1978-9.. I went on to study and then practice several body centered therapies (massage, acupressure , cranial sacral etc.) in 1985. I received my Masters in Acupuncture at the Tri-State College of Acupuncture in 1995. I have been in private practice and have taught and supervised student interns at the Eastern School of Acupuncture since 2000. My medical philosophy in terms of my practice is simple. The body/mind knows what it needs. Symptoms are the language it uses to communicate how , what and where we have “gone off the rails” or , to put it more politely “gotten out of harmony. The practitioner’s job is to understand that language and provide the input needed to bring the person back toward balance and harmony. The body /mind will then itself restore health to the degree possible.
